Condition: Fair; Blood stains present on potential dresser scarf fragment (miscellaneous); most pieces are fragile but in stable condition. The drawers are dusty. Many of the pieces are stacked on top of one another. See also I2018.001.097

Description: 83 pieces of lace, including: 17 collars, 4 individual sleeves, 1 bow, 2 rounds, 1 child's hat, 3 cuffs, 1 child's shawl, 1 child's echarpe, 40 lengths, 2 hankerchiefs, 1 bodice, and 9 miscellaneous pieces. 2 of the 3 cuffs are long, one is short. Some of the miscellaneous pieces may be identified as hand sewn medallions (2) and a dresser scarf fragment (1).
Inscription/Marks: Some pieces bear previous inventory numbers likely dating to 1961; the second drawer includes labels: MACHINE MADE LACES AND HANDMADE LACES; NOTE WHERE THREADS ARE JOINED TO CONTINUE LACE; FROM THE BOSWELL & WORCHESTER COLLECTIONS; HANDMADE LACES; HANDMADE LACES WORN BY 19th CENTURY AMERICAN WOMEN; NOTE: THESE ARE THE SAME PATTERNS IN DIFFERENT WIDTHS; The righthand drawer of Case 9 includes labels: BINCHE; HANDMADE LACES; MECHLIN; NEEDLEPOINT ON NET; LILLE; BUCKINGHAM POINT; VALENCIENNES; ROSALINE; TORCHON; BOBBIN APPLIQUED ON MACHINE MESH
