Meet at Bixby for our regular story hour.
Bixby story hours are designed for preschool age children. We explore songs, stories, share in the fun and create art together. Families get to know one another over time, and children delight in making friends from many of the area towns. Preschool literacy creates a foundation of curiosity and desire for reading.
On March 15, we are heading out on our monthly Field Trip.
We are heading to Grant Haven Maple Farm where our theme conveniently is ” Give a tree a hug!”
We will have a walk through apart of the sugar bush and then explore the sugar house for a bit.
Likely we will sample something sweet too!
This is for pre-school age children, pre-registration is required. Wear proper outdoor clothing and footwear !! Bring a snack and beverage too
Set your GPS to 1681 Vermont Route 17 East Addison, VT
. You’ll be turning into the driveway of a small green house, but you’ll see that just inside the driveway is a road/path to the left that leads up toward a red building. This building is the warehouse/storage building. Continuing on this road past the warehouse will take you up a hill toward the sugar bush. When you reach the top of the hill, still outside the tree canopy, you will see a parking area on the left. You probably won’t see the sugar house, or not very well.
Directions from the Bixby: Take 22A South out of Vergennes toward Addison. Once at the Four Corners (the junction of 22A and Route 17, turn left (East) and drive roughly 1.25 miles. Box 1681 will be on your right (again the green house).
