How Bixby Library is Funded

Town Support

The towns of Addison, Ferrisburgh, Panton, Vergennes and Waltham vote funds at their annual town meetings. The residents of these towns have free use of the library and are represented on the Library Board of Trustees.

Annual Appeal

Each year the Board of Trustees sends out an appeal for donations to private citizens. The generous donations of many individuals contribute greatly to our operating budget.

Endowment

Interest from an endowment left by Mr Bixby goes toward the regular operating expenses of the library. The Board believes the endowment should be grown.

Grants

In addition staff, Friends and trustees write grants to benefit programs, acquisitions and building renovation and upkeep.

Any contributions are greatly appreciated.
