Birding Week at the Bixby Memorial Free Library

Welcome to Birding Week at the Bixby Memorial Free Library! We are so excited to welcome Audubon Vermont for two fun and exciting introductions to birding for adults and kids; and additionally we’ll be sharing some birding resources from the Bixby Library and organizations leading the field of birding.

Introduction to Birding With Audubon Vermont

Taking Your Casual Birding Up a Notch with Audubon Vermont- Tuesday, December 8th, 6:30pm

Whether you recently started a new birding hobby or you are a long-time birder who is ready to improve your skills, you can join Audubon Vermont for an hour of skill building and improving. From birding-by-ear to selecting binoculars, we will share tips, tools, and resources to get you birding from your windows to your favorite hiking trail. And because we could all use some good news, she will also share some data from the field season of conservation work across Vermont. Please bring your questions as well!

Audubon Vermont’s inquiry-based science programs encourage exploration, foster critical thinking, and build confidence. We inspire conservation actions that impact local communities: forest management, climate action, and native plants for birds.

Winter Wonder with the Audubon Vermont – December 10, 2020; 4:00-5:00pm

Kids are invited to engage their senses and observe seasonal changes and cycles in Vermont’s landscape. Explore animals- birds in particular- that you can see outside throughout Vermont’s long, snowy season. We will also discuss what animals in Vermont do to survive in the cold. Bring your questions!
