Beneath the Surface: Underwater Archeology in Lake Champlain

August 28 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Dive into the fascinating world of underwater archaeology in Lake Champlain with Taylor Picard, a Nautical Archaeologist from the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.

In this engaging talk, Taylor will guide us through their career exploring Revolutionary War shipwrecks, sunken canal boats, and underwater dive preserves–uncovering the history and stories of submerged artifacts in Lake Champlain. They’ll also delve into how climate change impacts underwater archeology and offer a behind-the-scenes look at their work, including their scuba gear.

This program is made possible thanks to a grant from ECHO Connected Learning Ecosystem (CLE).
