Summer Reading Program & Booked for Bikes
You could win a free bike this summer, just by reading!
The Bixby Memorial Free Library and the Vergennes Rotary are happy to partner again to bring this reading and prize program back for the summer of 2021. It is easy to participate, all you have to do is keep track of how many minutes you are reading!
Each time you reach 100 minutes, fill out an entry form and drop it off at the library. Be sure to drop off entries as soon as you finish them, because we will be drawing names weekly and monthly for prizes, in addition to the grand prize drawing for the bikes that will happen on August 28th at Vergennes Day.
Print out your own entry form here, or pick up one at the library.
If you prefer to keep track of your minutes digitally, check out beanstack. Just make sure you select the Bixby as your home library and log your minutes – the librarians will be sure you are entered to win the prize drawings!
Be sure to check our event calendar for fun programs and presentations all summer long!
Wednesdays at 10:30 am starting May 19th
Join Ms. Melanie each Wednesday morning at the bandstand on the Vergennes City Green for stories, songs, and rhymes. This program is designed for preschool aged children and their caregivers. Kids of all ages are welcome!
We usually end up spreading out on the grass in the shade, so feel free to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on.
If rain is expected, please check our social media accounts as we’ll hold storytime at the Bixby Library.
Library Cards for All Ages!
Any age is welcome to get their own library card! Anyone under 16 will be required to have a parent/guardian with a Bixby account, and the youth account will be nested under this account. Currently, to receive a card, please email your Full name, Address, and Phone Number to email@example.com or call (802) 877 – 2211.
Outreach is available to registered, certified, childcare facilities in the Addison Northwest District from the Bixby Library. Services include the delivery of books and other materials for loan. For more information about the Childcare Outreach Program please call the library at (802) 877-2211.
