Library Cards

The Bixby Memorial Free Library offers free library cards to residents of Addison, Ferrisburgh, Panton, Vergennes, and Waltham, Vermont. The Bixby also offers library cards for several non-resident patron categories:

  • Seasonal residents who own property in the five towns may apply for a library card free of charge.
  • Patrons residing outside the five towns served by the Bixby may obtain a library card for an annual fee of $30, payable at the circulation desk via cash or check.
  • The Bixby is a Homecard library and accepts valid library cards from other participating Vermont libraries.
  • Children aged 5-11 are eligible for a library card, but must have the signature of a parent or guardian.
  • Teachers within the five towns served by the Bixby are eligible for a free library card.
  • Temporary residents (e.g., those residing at the local shelter or attending Northlands JobCorps) are eligible for a library card free of charge.

Please visit the library’s Circulation Desk to apply for a card.

Renewing a Card

All library cards must be renewed to confirm patron residency and contact information. Renewal is due after two years for five town residents, seasonal residents, and teachers. Out-of-town patrons must renew their cards yearly and pay an annual $30 fee. Temporary patrons must renew their cards every six months. Homecard patrons must renew their card at their home library.

To renew your library card, visit the library in person or call us at (802) 877-2211 to confirm your contact information.
