December 14 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Calling all readers! The Bixby Book Club meets the second Tuesday of every month at 6pm. We read a variety of books, spanning the genres of contemporary, literary, and historical fiction, as well as non-fiction, biography, and classics. Didn’t read or finish the book? No worries! This is a no-judgement book club.

This meeting will be held in the Bixby Vermont Room, we are currently requiring masks inside the building and have large air filters all over the building.

Books can be reserved by emailing Laksamee at laksamee.putnam@bixbylibrary.org

The December read is “A Long Petal of the Sea” by Isabel Allende. View a list of past and upcoming reads here.

Description from Amazon:

In the late 1930s, civil war grips Spain. When General Franco and his Fascists succeed in overthrowing the government, hundreds of thousands are forced to flee in a treacherous journey over the mountains to the French border. Among them is Roser, a pregnant young widow, who finds her life intertwined with that of Victor Dalmau, an army doctor and the brother of her deceased love. In order to survive, the two must unite in a marriage neither of them desires.
