During National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November, many writers of all levels join a challenge to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days.

Whether you are writing a novel, poem, short story or another writing project, we invite you to write at the Bixby Library during open hours all month long. Head to the Half-Round Room upstairs where you will find writing books from our collection,  writing prompts, light snacks, and warm drinks- all to help inspire you with your writing.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: to write 50,000 words of a novel in thirty days. Now, each year on November 1, hundreds of thousands of people around the world begin to write, determined to end the month with 50,000 words of a brand-new novel. They enter the month as elementary school teachers, mechanics, or stay-at-home parents. They leave novelists. Find out more about this movement here!
