On February 27th, Chris Sabick, Executive Director of the Maritime Museum, will visit the Bixby to present on a number of ongoing research efforts focused on the American Revolution in general and the Battle of Valcour Bay (October 1776) and its aftermath in particular. Ongoing excavations at Arnold’s Bay and recent documentation of the gunboat Spitfire will be discussed as well as plans for future Revolutionary War research that is being planned in the run up to the 250^th commemorations of 1776.
