“The Path to Mindfulness and Creative Writing” with James Crews, editor of The Path to Kindness and How to Love the World, and author of Bluebird and Telling My Father. James invites us to be mindful of the natural world, pay attention to what feelings stir within, and write with a fluid and authentic voice. The Writing Workshop at the Bixby Library (1:30-3 p.m.) can be extended with a Mindfulness Hike to Vergennes Falls and MacDonald trails (3-4 p.m.). Workshop participants are welcomed to share a poem or original piece of writing later in the evening at a Poetry Picnic in the Park from 6 to 7 p.m. Purchase food from nearby restaurants (Rockers, Hired Hand, or Park Squeeze), and join us on the village green for a Poetry Open Mic.
Registration required for the Writing Workshop and Mindfulness Hike, please sign up at the Bixby Library, call 802-877-2211 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Not part of the workshop but interested in sharing your poetry at the picnic? Please email LiamBattjes@gmail.com to be put on the line up!
